About Dalin Rose Bergman
Artist Statement
Alzheimer’s runs in my family, and I am watching how it is affecting not only the person who has Alzheimer’s but also the family in contact with them. I wanted to do everything I can to save the memories that are precious to me.

I don’t want to forget the important parts of my journey that has made me. I have been able to experiment with this idea through ceramics, digital designs, and paintings. I save my memories in a visual way so I can look back on them, whether it is architectural art of places that have been a part of my journey, or even a specific memory that changed the course of my life.
This idea is best illustrated in the ceramic piece, Next Chapter. This piece is a mosaic that is made of ceramic tiles that create one big picture. The piece allows the viewer to interact with the mosaic by taking a ceramic tile home with them. By doing this, the picture will slowly piece away like how a memory does when someone has Alzheimer’s. By creating works of art that capture memory, I am not only helping myself remember, but letting others see my experiences and how I became who I am today.
